Your Role
Your tasks as a trainee will be supervised and will vary according to the unit you join. They may include research, drawing up draft reports, compiling statistical data, performing operational tasks or contributing to specific projects related to your business area.
Our traineeships offer you excellent opportunities to gain insights into the way the European Central Bank works, acquire hands-on experience in an area of interest to you, and put your theoretical knowledge into practice.

Qualifications, experience and skills

Essential for the traineeship programme:
- a bachelor’s degree or higher in a field relevant to the area to which you are applying;
- a general interest in European affairs, central banking, banking supervision and matters of relevance to the ECB business areas participating in the programme;
- a good knowledge of the MS Office package;
- an advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, read more.

You are keen to collaborate with others, pursue team goals and learn from other people’s diverse perspectives. You strive to know and anticipate stakeholder needs, and will signal any need for change and propose alternative solutions.
